Default Some canibalism went down last night...definitely not in my favor...

...got my *** handed to me by a '91 200. He said all he had done was a chip, upgraded to a BOV and a larger FPR or something similar. We took off from 2nd gear and 3rd gear several times, he'd get me by a good 4-5 cars by the time we hit 4th, then by the top of 4th he would pull some more. Those 5v turbos have to be one of the biggest sleepers out there.

Stock Specs:
217 @ 5700 RPM
228 ft. lbs. @ 1950 RPM
3351 lbs

He said with the mods he had, he was around 270hp...not bad at all.

The original 5cyl turbos was probably one of the best engines ever built by Audi.

I wish they'd go back to them. They can make 300 easy with a chip and different waste gate spring.

89 was the 10v, not as good as a 91 20020vT...Fear the 5 cylinder. :-)

Default Even the NA 5v 200's have 160hp...which isn't bad at all.

They weigh in at 3000lbs or so, which isn't too bad either. I've heard those are enthusiasts cars...meaning you better love the car enough to do all the maintenance yourself, because things go wrong all the time. There was a decent amount of smoke coming from under his hood after about 7 or 8 hard runs...not sure what that was about.

Default 5 CYLINDER, not valve. They are the original 20v motor..

big huge turbos. Way fast. Same engine in the original S4/S6 sedan and Avant.

Default Um, not so much. The 20v 5 cylinder in the coupe and 90 sedan had 160..

the 5 v was in the 130 range. Slow as donkey, trust me.
