Some doubts on my clutch
I did a search about slipping clutch, well everyone talk about slipping their clutches for lunches and during shifting. This is my third manual car in 2 years.
Now this is the situation, when I'm driving, and press the clutch the rev goes up, or stays on the same rev and when I engage the other gear it will go down. Also, when I'm slowing down and press the clutch, is the only time where the rev will go down as normal.
Is this a wear symptom? And will I need a replacement or just adjustment?
Thanks.

what you are doing is not how to test for a slipping clutch...
if you press the clutch in when driving, all the load suddenly is off the engine, so yeah...the rpms will jump.
when you are slowing down you are engine braking which means the rpms are artificially high due to the tire speed and when you press in the clutch the rpms will drop to idle.
if you have a slipping clutch, get on the highway in 5th gear at about 3000 rpms and jump on the gas..WOT. if the car revs but doesnt pickup speed, you have a slipping clutch.

Thank you soooo much.
I was just worried to pay for a new clutch and specially with the holidays gifts... not so good.
When I'm on the highway in 5th speed @3000 and press the gas... the car flies.. so I guess I'm ok then!
