source for front axle shafts

What is the latest thinking on sourcing front axle shafts for a 1998 A4 1.8 t quattro?
My CV joints are starting to growl right on time (59K miles), and I don't want to fool with cv joint/boot replacement.

you can also get them from Raxle

Your local German car repair/parts place can get anything for you. I got a new Empi

driver front axle assembly for $ 150.00 plus tax from a shop that sells parts and does service on anything German. I'd even ask the local boys at your nearest Pep Boys/Kragen/Insert Generic Auto Parts store name here.........it's worth a shot as long as you know what you want and ignore their advice
