Default stereo install problems

Just installed Eclipse amp and Boston Pro components. Now headlights don't work. Any ideas on wiring. Only wires cut were the speaker wires on the harness. All fuses are good and all other functions of car are good. Even parking lights.
Is anything sith the headlights wired through the head unit? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Default Let's try a third time...

Did you do the install yourself? if so, where did you run the power from for the amp?

You might be pulling power off of the power line into the lamps... .

Post some more info about what the wiring is like.

power is straight from battery. turn on from back of radio(cut at location of stock amp). speaker and line level cut (for signal to new amp).

by "turn on" I mean the switched 12v supply to the factory rear amp. I used it from the back of the car. I just cut it out of the unused harness for the old amp.

Default Check the following:

1. See if your highbeams work when the light lever is on. If they do, you might have managed to blow out your regular lights during install.

2. If they don't turn on, does the car still beep at you if you have the lever on and try to leave it on when you exit the car? If it doesn't, you may have accidently severed the lever's line when you cut the speaker or line out wires.

3. Try disconnecting the power line to the amp and see if the lights come back on. I doubt this will do anything if all else in your car works, but it's worth a shot.

4. Make sure you haven't grounded out the lights (or have pover running to the ground line of the lights) with some exposed wire somewhere.

As always, good luck!

I assume you mean the "Remote Start." That's fine (don't power the amp with it 8-P )

Default Re: Check the following:

The car beeps with the lever on but when I flip it to high beam the light on the dash that indicates high beam doesn't come on. Also the fog light swithces on the dash don't light up when I push them. The headlight washers don't work either but everything else that is on the same circuit (dash lights, climate control etc.) works. I checked all the wiring about 10 times and nothing is grounded. I hope my service manual gets here today.

The wire that switches the factory amp on. It goes to +12volts when you turn the radio on. I used it to turn on the new amp not power it. I used 4 gauge power wire to power it fused right at the battery.
