Default subs

I'd hate to be a same-topic *****, but well... none of you know me in real life, so...

i know 'someone' on this board must have installed their own subs/amp into their a4. HDclown- i bought my car used (99), and the jerk who owned it before me must have mod'd it. that one grommet is def. used and the wire goes into the engine. I have 'no' idea what this mod could be, but there has to be a way to do this w/o drilling. there must! no one here installed their own or knows how the pro did it?

OK, i guess i made too many blind references to the two different topics i've posted earlier today and the other day.

im trying to wire in these subs/amp in my 99 a4.

there is 'no' way that i can find to get power from the battery to the trunk. there is just not a hole i can get the cable through to get power.

i figure there has gotta be a way to wire this w/o drilling.

the one way HDClown suggested, there is already a wire going through. i bought the car used. i dont know why there is this wire going through it or where it goes. i figured the car is stock since i bought it from a dealership in eastchester, ny. apparently its not

so im asking, if anyone who has subs/amp in their a4. how they got power to it. and if it was pro. installed, how the pro. did it, if he did so w/o drilling.

Default i along with sum1 else said this on the other thread

right next to the steering rack in the cabin...poke a hole with a screwdriver or something and just fish a bunch of cable thru. it'll drop on the floor inside the engine bay. then just route it back to the battery. got it?

Default OK here are a few ideas.

depending on the size of your power wire...
4-8 Gauge will fit though the ECU box, this will give you enough room to run the wire through the engine bay without drilling holes.

I've installed subs and amps in A4/S4 vehicles before you should have no problem running the power wire through the ECU box.

Default electrical interference to the ECU, it happened to a guys car here

Car ran like total *** with 4ga running through his ECU box. He removed it and it was fine.

I most cases, it seems running through ECU doesn't cause a problem, but it has for others.
