Suspension ?

Suspension ?
I want a coilover suspension for the ride height adjustability...i want to raise it for the winter and drop it in the summer. I know H&R coilovers are good but i have heard some bad things about the wearing out of the shocks and some other things...I know of the Koni's also...how do these two compare and are there any other brands I should consider. I will be using these for mostly street driving and perhaps a few track events. Thanks in advance, Nick.

Re: Suspension ?..they all wear out..
All shocks will wear out at some point. The oil will get dirty and seals will leak. Although some come with a "lifetime" warranty I don't know of anyone who ever sent shocks in for a warranty claim and got them replaced. Some very high dollar shocks like penske and ohlins are rebuildable and rechargable. They don't have lifetime warrantys. I have a penske shock on my zx-9 and they recommend a rebuild once a year for streetriding and every 30 hours of track use. The rebuild costs 65 dollars. The shock with spring cost close to 800 dollars and if i had selected the triple adjuster it would have been more. It will be interesting to see in a while how all of these aftermarket shocks/springs hold up when they get about 30 to 35 k miles on them....and what will happen if someone tries to get them replaced under the so called "lifetime" warranty.....
