I have a TAP stage 2 chip and am considering changing to a GIAC or APR. The thing I have always wondered about is why TAP's stage 2 chip is only 0.8 bar. Anyone have comparison data to persuade me to change to a 1 bar chip? Any info on this is appreciated.<p>Geoff

At the UUC shifterfest, I had the opportunity to go for a ride in Colin's A4 Avant with the TAP chip and scorpion exhaust. That car flew-much faster than my A4 Avant w/APR v3 sans exhaust. Perhaps the exhaust adds some HP but there was a noticeable difference. 1st to 2nd was incredible, much more pull than the 1.0 bar.
Again try before you buy!

I had the Neuspeed chip for more than 15000 miles and today I received my APR chip. I am also running HKS Klasse catback. The lost low end with Neuspeed is gone and the car runs much better in terms of performance. It pulls all the time. It was very worth the money I spend on it. The turbo noise changed as well. I need to derive the car more but I really enjoyed driving the car today after a long time.
