Default Technical: Hood Switch Issues

Okay gang so I need your help here.

I happened upon a thread tonight that gave me an idea about my alarm arming issues. Basically I was clued in about a hood switch needing to be set in order for the alram to be armed.

So out there I went in freesing 60 degree weather to check.

Low and behold all I have is a stub near a switch that I am assuming is the hood switch. The switch (pictures later) has the numbers 1 and 2 on it.

Is this the hood switch?

If so where does the other end of the wires go to?

How much should I expect to pay for the switch and wire?

Thanks.

Default you can get a hood pin switch from most any audio shop for about 5 bucks....

all they do is ground that wire out when the hood opens to set off that zone of the alarm, our cars have two wires that go to the factory switch. (btw- it should be just to the right of your latch as you look at the car) if yours is broke just go buy a new one, conect both wires to one female spade plug and run a self tapping screw in there and you are done. shouldnt take more than 15 minutes and you will need a set if wire strippers/crimpers and a screw driver

Default btw i forgot both my factory hood pins had no #s on them the sre just a little nub that sticks up...

but if yours is broken and those wires are being allowed to ground your alarm most deffinatly wont arm. thats what happened to me, the factory ones are very flimsy
