Thank you Audi...
for keeping me alive. Totalled my car 2 Saturdays ago, thanking god that I am alive. Deer ran in front of my car on a very sandy road, I tried to avoid it but only managed to spin into a tree. Thank god for a passerby who pulled me from the car just before it erupted into flame. Luckly my only injuries are a broken thigh with a nifty new stainless-steel rod, broken right thumb, and a broken jaw. Also, just a question if you rip off the steering wheel, shouldn't the airbag go off, because mine didn't.

Holy Crap! You're lucky to be alive (and not so lucky as well).
Hope you recover soon...I'm sure it's going to be a long road.
As far as your question, no, the airbag will only go off on a frontal collision. Looking at your picture, the front of the car was not hit sufficiently hard enough to cause the front airbag deployment. Looks like the driver's side side airbag might have deployed though (driver's door sustained a direct hit).

None of the airbags went off, I ripped off the steering wheel in an effort to get out, which I thought should have deployed the airbag, but maybe not.
P
