Thanks everyone for your feedback re: track car
Lots of food for thought. I think the voice of reason might just prevail. I will take it slowly, do a few track session and see what the results are before I go all out ripping the car apart again.
Having said that, what should I look into to make the most out of my first track sessions? I do plan on some simple maintainance, flushing the cooling system, flushing the brakes, putting in ss brake lines. I already have S8 rotors up front, is that sufficient? Should I look into rear brake upgrade as well?
Probably time to consider a better clutch. At 80+k miles mine barely holds anymore.
What about suspension? Currently I'm running Bilsteins/Eibach combo with heavy duty sway bars. It works great on the street but is it stiff enough to work on the track?
Anything else I should be looking into to prep the car? I know I'm gonna hate my seats after the first session, so some buckets are definately on the list.

it's not the car.. it's the driver.
just enjoy and try to absorb what your instructor has to say.

current setup on your car will be perfectly fine...
no need to upgrade from there. If you find that you're going to slip on the seats there are a few options w/o upgrading seats.
I like to lexol my interior before going to the track. The conditioner is actually a little sticky, and holds you in place as you zip through the corners.
also, i've heard of people putting the rubber padding you put under throw rugs on their seat to keep their buns in place.
Other than fresh/clean fluids, I'd say your car is ready for the track. If the clutch is slipping, that might be something you want to look at prior to the track just for operations sake.
Join the ACNA mailing list and keep your eyes peeled for the DEs at VIR and Summit, and have some fun!
And like kenny said, it's more about the driver than the car. I've seen stock 4ks spank A4s and S4s alike because the drivers of the A4s and S4s don't know how to drive the car to the degree the 4k drivers do. food for thought.

track pads and good fluid will make a difference. eveything else will be repair/upgrades...
if your rear rotors a shot them you can do the B6 A4/C5 A6 rear upgrade. You can also try a camlock for your seatbelts. Plan on also buying you own helmet

and a slower car is even more rewarding cuz once you get good...
you start to pass the more powerful cars w/ drivers that don't know what they're doing
I know I was ear to ear grinning when a 911 Turbo let me pass him at one point during my first time at the glen... too bad I didn't have a camera in the car for that one
