Default I did it in my 1999.5 but don't know for sure about newer models...

you just need to take the trim piece off where the cupholder is (held in by some metal tabs), then you can slide the cupholder out by flexing the tabs holding the cupholder in. It is pretty easy to do once you get that top trim piece off.

Default 99.5 has the same dash as 2001+, so I assume that its the same....:)

does your dash look like this<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/318336.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/318336.phtml</a</li></ul>

Default yes..

pry the cover off that surrounds cupholder and fogligght/esp buttons, then there are metal clips that hold the cupholder in place, then it will just slide out.

Default i used a screwdriver wrapped in a rag so not to scratch.

there are 6 snaps 3 top 3 bottom, so pry gently behind each one so not to break em. the cupholder itself has metal clips that are visible.. i think 2 small screwdrivers/ nails/ whatever took care of those if i remember correctly.
