Took my 99.5 A4 2.8QMS in for its 7,500 mile checkup... (more)
I took my A4 into Sunset Imports for its 7,500 mile checkup this morning. I asked about the auto lock reprogram and the service manager said that they cannot do that reprogram. I told him it was in a TSB and that I could print it out for him. Then he said that he could do it but it would be $40. But the TSB said one reprogram is free, I replied. He was a little perturbed at this point and then said he'll check with his service guy. So we'll see what happens at the end of the day.
I also brought in my own synthetic for the oil change (Mobile 1 10w30). Told him it was on the passenger seat and to NOT OVERFILL THE RESERVOIR. I don't know if Sunset is prone to overfilling like other dealers, but better safe than sorry.
They gave me an old 100 for a loaner. This car is a tank, 70k miles and going strong. No rattles and the engine still had a lot of pull to it. If this is any sign for my A4's lifeline, then I made the right purchase.
