Tramlining
New to the forum, was checking up on my handling problem and found the above definition which seems to fit my problem to the dot.
Question that I hope to get some feedback on is, for 18" 225 (or 235) 40, which is the best tyres with the least tramlining effect?
Thanks in advance!
Tramlining can be amplified by tires with very stiff sidewalls or certain tread patterns. Usually, less performance-oriented tires will tramline less. What tires do you have now?
As far as size, it depends on the width of your rims. If you have very wide rims, let's say 8.5", then you want wider tires to cover them up.
Dunlop Winter Sport M2..no tramlining
Continental Extreme Contact...no tramlining
Pirelli PZero Nero M+S...noticible tramlining (annoying)
This is with 17x7.5" rims and 225/45/17 tire size.
Cheers,
