Default tuneing question

I have a 2001 A4 1.8t quattro 5spd. I Recently got it about 3 months ago it is my daily driver but I would like to do many modifications does anyone have a suggestion as to where I should start. I was thinking rims or exaust.

Default This is what I would do:

1. Suspension
2. Chip
3. Exhaust
4. Wheels

This is what i would do... if you want to go with a bigger turbo, you will need supporting mods which often include FMIC, exhaust, test pipe, and turbo inlet pipe. I would recommend only the mods listed if you want to have any chance of keeping your hard earned money.

Default Here's my 2 cents

Two paths, depending on what you're starting with.

This is just to get you started. I don't touch on brakes which are needed if you plan on going to the track. For spirited driving on the street, good pads and fluid are plenty. (OEM pads and fluid can't take the heat)

If you're starting with a non-sport with the 15" wheels.
1) Suspension (Vogtland or Koni Coilovers if you'd like to remain comfortable)
2) Anti-sway bars.. either Hsport front and rear (preferred) or the neuspeed 19mm rear anti-sway and an OEM Sport front sway.
3) 17" wheels and summer tires. (keep the 15s for winter if you live in snowy climate)
4) chip (APR for best driveability on the 01)
5) exhaust (APR or Milltek if you want your car to remain quiet)

If the car already has the sport package
1) Chip
2) Exhaust
3) anti-sway bars.. either HSport front and rear or just the neuspeed 19mm rear
4) suspension
5) 17" wheel if the car came with 16s, use 16s for winter. If the car came with 17s, get some 16s for winter (separate winter set only if you live in snowy area)

P.S. To know if you have sport package or not, look at the color of the shocks. Red=sport, black=non-sport. Don't go by the steering wheel, as the 3 spoke sport steering wheel was available as a separate option without the sport package.

Default BOV=BAD

So does a HAI.

Wheels do not equal tuning your car. Nor does exhuast. Neither do squat, until you need them.

Chip. Bigger brakes. Stock intake and exhuast. Wheels and coilovers at the same time..

Now, from here you will even bigger bigger brakes, wheel sto clear them, and bigger turbo. With the bigger turbo you will finally need exhuast and a FMIC.

Click on the FAQ link.

Avoid rice. Do not read any more magazines, they only want to sell you on what is advertised.

AND CHANGE THE FOOKING SUBJECT WHEN YOU REPLY.

Default Wheels do help

Wheels help, especially if you go from 15" to 17".. even if nothing else is changed.

Going wth a lighter wheel will help acceleration, handling, and braking.

Default if you're non-sport and in socal, i've got some sport sways :)

what do you want out of your car?
you want something that's fast in a straight line?
something that corners and stops well?
a well-balanced car that does both?

...or do you want something that looks flashy?
