Are the V W key fobs the same as the Audi`s?

I found a V W key fob at work and after two weeks gone by,no one claimed it.Can this fob be used on my 97 A4(are they considered to be Learning remote fobs) ?

I think they are the same exact thing... except of course for the big VW on the back

exact thing....however they have an extra button for opening the trunk.
