Default VDO gauge bulbs - Installed an oil pressure gauge this weekend - WAY brighter than my boost gauge

annoyingly so in fact.

I'd like to get a bit more light fom my boost gauge and a lot less from my oil pressure one. Any thoughts?

I'ev considered putting a second condom on the oil pressure one, or perhaps looking for a lower wattage wedge bulb. You guys got any experience on this?

Default put in a dimmer? assuming there's a separate power line for the bulb.

I've been thinking about doing this with my AWE vent gauge that has the white background to match my '01 cluster. The white of the gauge is a bit too bright.

It could be that there are two different bulbs in the gauges. change them both to new 194 bulbs.

Default i do not know if they will match the OEM dash but seems like two bulbs/LEDS should match EACH OTHER

I'd ask the company selling them if the white matches the OEM dash. I just thought it was worth posting as that particular store has some nice products for people wishing to achieve a clean, OEM kind of look. If all else fails you could replace all the bulbs in the dash with mathcing LEDs or bulbs.

Default Not necessary.

Some LED manufacturers allow a range of wavelength and intesities in their manufacturing process and bin them accordingly for sale or distribution. Therefor, it is possible that two LEDs may not closely match each other. Sucks...
