Default Mine too!

So far, I have had most of the car apart and have seen no side effects from this- the battery is operating correctly, etc. I think it means it's time to add some beefier stereo equipment

Default Normal since that is the voltage coming out of the alt to charge the battery.

Now it would be different if that 14 volts was with the engine not running.

Default If the alternator was putting out 12 volts - no current would travel to the battery to charge it

The must be a voltage differential in for for current to move - thus the alternator will put out 14 volts

BTW - your car does have a real issue - that PRND432 Warning light. If you had a manual - that warning light goes away

Yeah the ammeter should really act like a VU meter if your stereo is correctly sized. 8-)

Default battery only runs at 12v when fully charged which is almost never

it runs at 14v's while the alt. is charging the battery which is almost always seeing that the lights stereo etc. all drain battery so 14 is good if it goes too high like 16 or below 12 that is the problem
