Default Wastegate failure

I have read the postings on the site about the turbo problems and wastegate issues. I stopped by the dealer today and they said I need a new turbo... $2150.00.. My question is... since I cannot afford a new turbo right now, will I damage the car any driving it with a bad wastegate?

Default If you can beat me on the bidding....

there is one on Ebay! U can usually find them used for around $100 Dont even think about spending $2150 on a new one from the dealer. You could get a K04(step bigger) get more power and it would still cost less than what the dealer charges.

Default You can get a used (still good) turbo for <$200. Get it put in at a local tuner.

Where are you located?

Default Not that big a deal to me. If he is closer to you that would make more sense. If he's interested

perhaps he'll email each of us?

Default Re: may be wanting it...

I may be in contact with you guys early next week. I a waiting to see if Audi will help with the cost. Also, I sent an eMail to me previous mechanic in Texas (I recently moved to WI) and he suggested I check the oil line to turbo before doing anything.

So, I will keep you posted - I appreciate the offer, and will let you know either way...

Thanks
