Default What the hell is going on with my car? It just overheated! HELP!

I was driving around 40mph for about 5mins and got on the highway and I was speeding up to merg my coolent temp warning light came on. My temp guage went all the way over to hot from warm at the snap of your fingers. My oil temp also went from about 225 to about 325 at the snap of your fingers aswell. After this happend and I slowed down I herd a little clunking noise coming from the engine bay aswell. I pulled over and poped the hood and the coolent was boiling over like crazy and oil also appeared to be boidling and leaking out from under the oil fill cap aswell. I let everything cool down for about 30mins and the coolent level droped back down. I then started the car up again and the light was back off so I drop home at about 35mph in 5th gear hehe. Good thing I was only like 2mins from home when this all happened. After letting the car sit in the driveway for a little while I checked everything out again the oil level still looks fine but the coolent is right at or maby a hair under the minimum level. I am running 0w40 mobile 1 oil and the pink audi coolent you get at the dealership. Do you think I just need to add some coolent and possibly get an oil change maby switch weight to? It had only been like 2k miles since my last oil change...Any ideas what caused this to happen all of a sudden? Oh an if it matters it was only 56 degress outside today when then happens. My car is a 1998 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro tip with 78k miles and has had the timing belt done about 20k miles ago.

Any help would be great!

Thanks!

The little propeller thing in the water pump is plastic and can shatter into a million pieces...
