Default yours is every 90K not 60...

12v 2.8 doesnt have problems with the timing belt like the 1.8turtle does.

the 30v iirc has a belt dampener and so does the 20v 1.8T... but the 12v 2.8 just has a roller and a relay roller that need replacing every 90K miles... The serpentine belt needs changing too... and the timing belt... and the water pump.

the usual suspects have the parts for the job... at the right prices.

Default ding ding ding....

you are correct sir..

be sure and get the metal impeller not the cheap later style... plastic impeller.

I've seen broken (lepperacy) impellers on 2.8 water pumps. Looks like they decayed off like a rotting tooth.

I've got a GRAF one waiting to go in my car... it has the metal impeller.

Default Wrong, wrong, wrong. The 12vs EAT waterpumps, which as you might know...

are driven by the timing belt, which, being that you work in a parts room you would know that the 12v belt is 1/2 the width of the 30v belt, which makes you wonder if Audi/VW was trying to fix a problem.. Plus, you OWN a 12v, you'd think you'd know these things by now. Noob.

change the pump, idler, tensioner, thermostat, and belt at 60k.

Default you don't positively know without inspecting it....

or if you are having issues with your coolant temp. Just do it at 60K and be safe.
