where are some good places to find an ECU?
im among a few on here that have had them die recently...dealer wanted 1200...my chip shop said they would get it for 700...anyone know a place to beat that? model number 4d0907551a8 for a 1998.5 5 speed 2.8

is that a safe source? i wouldnt want to get one that is dead again:( how specific are the models?
if i bought one for a 2.8 but it was from a tiptronic would it work on my 5 speed?

you might have to recode the softcode with a vag-com but as long as it's for the 2.8 for your year
ecu model it will work... they generally test the ecu's or warranty them for 30-60 days.
