Default Will they fit?

I have 17X8 O.Z. Ultraleggeras with 35mm offset. Currently my tires are 225/45-17 which obviously fit. The specs on these are a Section Width 8.9" and Overall Diameter of 25.0". But, the tires that I want are much bigger.

There are three tire sizes that I'm considering:
#1) 235/40-17 (9.6" S.W. & 24.5" O.D.)
#2) 235/45-17 (9.4" S.W. & 25.4" O.D.)
#3) 245/40-17 (9.8" S.W. & 24.7" O.D.)

I am leaning towards size #2. Will any or all of these fit without rubbing or spacers? TIA

Default probably will need to roll your fenders and might need some spacers to prevent

rubbing.

Seriously? You don't think any of those three sizes would plug and play?

Default Maybe

I'm running 235/45/17 on 17x8 OZs with 35 offset as well. Eibach prorace shocks, which may not be as low as you're running.

No problems rubbing in any direction. No spacers

I'm about to go to the new Dunlop Direzza in a 245/40/17 size. Hoping it won't rub...

Interestingly the same size tire from different brands will measure quite differently, so YMMV.

Default Which specific tire do you have on in 235/45-17? I'm curious to know the section width & diam...

for your tires that do not rub (compared to the dimensions I'm looking into). My car isn't necessarily slammed. If I remember, when the rims were on, the fenders were all just under 26" of height.

(BTW, the tires I'm considering in those sizes are Direzzas too.)

BF Goodrich Sports. Plenty of room...

Looking forward to the Direzzas...they're supposed to be the cat's pajamas!

Default According to TireRack.com your BFG tire is 9.3" wide and 25.3" high...

compared to the 9.4" section width & 25.4" O.D. on the tire that I want. So in your opinion, you have a bit more room on your car. Is it the silver Avant in your first picture with the SLs? If so, it looks slightly lower than mine standing still. Have you flogged it hard with those 235s on it... as in doing some hard autocrossing?

You can see in my pictures that my 225 RE-01Rs get pretty close on my car when I'm racing. So I have to either take the risk or just get 225 Direzzas.

Man I want a wider tire for racing! (and summer for that matter)

Default Yes

It's the silver avant with the SLs. And yes, I've flogged it pretty hard, autocrossing, no rubbing.

SO that's good news...the Direzza should fit with no problems.

I'm buying mine next week, locally, and if they don't fit, I don't own them.
