Default wiring EGT and oil pressure gauges for ignition power - tap into radio's 12V and ground?

Is this the easiest way to get 12V (ignition) power for my EGT and oil pressure gauges? Also, please see the pic below - where do the bundled red/black go? 12V ignition power and ground?

Default um...well, switched power can be found anywhere in the car...

the radio, yes....the fuse box is okay to tap into for something like this...the one labeled "30" in red is switched power irrc....

as per the ground...um, make your own ground...any clean, unpainted metal surface will suffice...you aren't dealing with a huge amount of energy so you will be okay...

have fun :-)

Default i need unswitched power though (ignition power) - switched is attainable

from 75x, that's for the bulbs. or are my interpretations of switched and unswitched wrong?

thanks.

Default Switched power means when you turn on the key, you get power.

Unswitched is on all the time (direct to battery.)

Default thanks kris...

any idea what those bundled leads go to from the EGT? I'm assuming switched power and ground... is there an easier way to tap for power (ie, 75x is real easy to tap) than say, using my head unit's power lead?

Default For constant tap into the 30s under the knee bar. Is the 75x switched?

I have no clue where the wires on the EGT guage go.. No manual for them I assume?

Default *bangs head against desk*

Nevermind. They send these sheets, and they all look the same, so I figured "eh, let me look at just one" - i opened the others and they describe exactly where everything goes.

75x is activated with headlights, so the bulbs aren't on all the time, at least that's what my understanding has been all this time =)

Maybe I'll make a little tech article out of this whole thing... I don't think there are any oil pressure or EGT gauge installs in the tech section.

Thanks again for the help kris, mainly just needed a strong shove in the right direction... RTFM, for example. ;-)
