Default working on my DIY short throw and.....

I got it done, and installed, but now when it's in Neutral, it doesn't want to spring back to center. It will when I go to the left (towards 1st or 2nd) but when I go to the right (towards 5th and reverse) is doesn't want to spring back to center. So when I go to shift into 4th, it hits the reverse stop. Any ideas?

Default did you put spacer washers in?

its probably rubbing on the transmission tunnel.

Default ok, that might work....

When I had I it set on the shortest setting (the hole farthest away from the stock hole) it was really pressed up against the transmission tunnel. So I put it on the middle hole, and its probably still hitting, just not as bad

Default here is the list of things to check.

1. did you use spacer washers....
2. did you use enough spacer washers....
3. did you put the assembly in the way it came out (reverse lockout finger rotated to RIGHT hand side)
4. did you adjust the sled's fore/aft adjustment.
5. did you adjust the cuff to linkage joint.

Default Du'h...... go buy some washers and use them to elevate the assembly /sled

that prevents it from hitting the tunnel.

Default I'll try spacers, but why adjust the sled position?..

I don't quite get it, Also, I have a 98.5, I think its a little different from the newer ones, and defintly different from the S4's

Default and go back to the shortest setting..... just add like 4 washers in the front and 5 in the rear

that is how mine is configured and DrPabs has the same.

Default sled position allows you do change the angle that Neutral is at

sometimes a little adjustment is needed. Odds are you wont need to even try that. Just do the spacers.
