would it be a bad idea to make a custom cold air intake out of flexible rubber hose rather then PVC?

Default Like a vacuum cleaner hose?

Think about how much turbulence that will cause!

Those internal ridges are horrible, they wont help any.

Default i think you should stay away from the pvc...

back when i used to drive a civic i looked into this. i asked many forums and they told me not to do it. at high temp the pvc may melt on your engine, and if it does it realeases some kinda toxic gas. if your still intersted on making a custom cold air i would say use metal pipeing. on the internet there were instructions on how to make a cold air intake for a civic. (i kno its different but you should read it as refference) all they used was a u bent metal pipe (from jcwhitney) cut in certain parts. i bet you could do the same, i had it on my civic and everyone was amazed i made it myself. cost me aruond 50 bucks including the air filter.
