X-post, my S4 was recovered in Newark, NJ
First of all, I read the thread posted earlier ny NSoares: thank you all for your warm comments and your insight into my "twisted" personality, the whole thread was rather entertaiing to read.
Anyhow, as was previously mention you have to go to Newark PD sit ina line for 3.5 hours JUST to verify that you are the owner of your car, then they tell you the location of the specific impound yard where your car is located.
By the time I got done with stage 1, the impound yard was already closed, so i had no chance to see my car; I'll have to do so tomorrow.
BUT, at the PD you do get a copy of the Recovery police report which, disturbingly, give you a vauige idea as to what general condition the car is in.
Here is the prelim. report for my car as well as my opinions of the such:
1. no headlights - i have heard that S4 zenons can be easily retorfitted to A4's as well as some Honda's
2. No spare tire - Duh, the only people beneftitting from this would be to resale to a body shop or to other VW / Audi owners
3. broken front windshield - WTF?? accident or a brick through the window, mischeif, whatever.
4. punched out driver's door lock - obvious
5. punched out ignition - obvious
6. MULTIPLE dents, damage, scratches to ENTIRE vehicle - see #3.
I'll be going to my polroid to the impound yard tomorrow, i'll post pixtures of the horror then.
thanks again for all your concerns and positive comments.

Alex, if you need to bring it to a body shop, try C&D Autobody in South Hackensack.
Rich W has recommended them many times, and they are pretty familiar with A4/S4's. It's off exit 156 on the GSP (so less than a 20 mile tow from Newark).

If you need a little piece of mind, drop by and pay them a visit. They are currently doing some work for me, so you'll be able to have a look.
Best of luck sorting things out!
