Default xpost: apr stage 3 folks - ever had your exhaust manifold gasket die?

i'm assuming it is not the stock gasket? if you've experienced this, was the replacement covered by your installer or apr? i had stage 3 installed about a month ago and am a little concerned about the gasket going so quickly. any recommendations?
thanks.

Default none have that I can recall....

I've had the kit on for 33,000 miles now and all gaskets are fine. How do you know the gasket failed? Can you post a picture of what you're seeing? Are all the copper nuts still tight?

Default IIRC it is a multipart stainless steel gasket. Therefore, while it is possible it failed, it is

highly unlikely. I haven't heard of anyone loosing that gasket. I think it's far more likely that, as Boostd suggested, the copper nuts weren't properly torqued and may be leaking. Left long enough even the stainless gasket will go south though.
I have heard of one car that had the turbo/manifold nuts loosen and that toasted the turbo/manifold gasket.

I had a mechanic i generally trust take a look at it. it started with a rattling sound in the exhaust - sort of like a baffle was loose or there was a small hole - coming from up near the engine. i don;t have a garage or anything, so i can't really get the car up to look myself. but the mechanic said it looked like a paper gasket...? i'm going to take it to the shop that installed the apr kit a week from today. shd i be concerned about driving it? there doesn't appear to be a boost leak or anything...

Default I would baby it a bit until after it is looked at. Just drive it like a

little old lady .. stay out of full song until it is 'corrected' An exhaust leak along the head can raise head temperatures (and oil temperatures substantially)
