16k Miles and i need new tires already
#6
I just replaced my OEM Contis this weekend with Toyo Proxes T1-S's
I realize that my Conti's were practically racing slicks at 20K but even so, I can't believe the difference in handling with the Toyos!!!
Driving all of my favorite roads this weekend has been amazing. It's like a got a new car all over again. I haven't even found the upper limits yet! No squealing at all. Turn in is much crisper. Steering is somewhat lighter and more direct. Even small bumps seem better absorbed by the suspension (the latter probably due to having a decent amount of tread!).
I can not say enough good things about the Toyos. They were a little more money but well worth it in my opinion. I can't wait to get them out on the track! Speaking of which, the tire dealer said that T1-S's are the tires used in the SCCA touring class. They aren't even shaved for race use if that tells you anything!
I think they are a great compromise between track and street use.
My two cents.....
