Is the A4 1.8T the same Engine as the TT 1.8T

Default Is the A4 1.8T the same Engine as the TT 1.8T
Is the A4 1.8T @ 170 HP the same engine as the TT 1.8T which produces 225 hp ? Same Turbo?

If so why all the talk about 3rd party chips.
Can I not go to my Audi dealer and ask him to put the TT chip in my A4.

The Pasatt is the same engine and turbo as the A4 1.8 T and is spec @ 180 HP.

Default No, it's not the same.
TT engine is transverse, ours is longitudinal. TT also has twin intercoolers, not to mention the obvious software differences.

and isnt it k04 instead of k03 ./. there are MANY MANY other small differences also.

A4s have a longitudal engine and transmition while the TTs and GTIs have Transversal

Default Some person prove that the engine internals are same in 180 and 225
I saw the post while ago...
He compared the part # with 180 engine and 225 engine, it was same...

The compression ratio is different between the 180 and 225.

Passat is 170 HP, same as A4 (180HP only in Jetta, Golf, GTI & NB transverse-mount applications).
