A4 3.0 Quattro Gas Mileage
HI All,
You folks have been a big help before, so I'm calling on your wisdom and expertise once again. I took delivery of my A4 3.0 Quattro (auto w/tiptronic) in May of this year. Since then my average city driving mileage is around 13.8 to 14.1 MPG. Highway mileage seems okay at about 23 to 24 MPG. Does my city mileage seem awfully low to you folks? Does my A4 need more break-in time? What do you think?

heh... I get about 15-16 mpg on average...
But that's driving about 6 miles to and from work every day, about half sitting at traffic lights and half on the highway at 80 mph.
If I'm coasting at around 70-80 mph on the highway, I get around 25 mpg.
But I do agree that the city mileage sucks. Whatcha gonna do though?

FWIW: The best mileage I've had, so far, was on our vacation in August (m)
We were able to drive ~730km on one tank (66 litre tank)! Conditions were the following:
1. Hot ambient temps (around 32C)
2. High mountain passes
3. Mostly driving at 135km/h
This works out to about 31 mpg (imperial gallons). Not sure what this would be in US gallons.
Mileage in the city is not so great. But I knew this would happen so I'm not complaining. And if you drive with a lead foot, you'll pay at the pumps.
