No you are not. It is most people's nature to want the "new thing" when it comes out.
The A3 is quicker and more powerful than your 1.8T (unless you have modded your 1.8T) so obviously it is more fun to drive.

I don't think your carzy -
I think the A3 is a great car, and if you dont need the larger A4 (which I personally use/need the truck) I would say def do the trade - especially if you loved your loaner and youd prob get a pretty good deal - and may even be able to get more options on a newer A3 then you have on your surrent A4
