Default Anybody else with a 3.0 switch to B5 S4 calipers?

I just had this done recently and noticed a couple of things:

1. At certain speeds when I apply the brakes, the steering tends to pull to left. Doesn't happen all the time though.

2. The steering seems to be a lot more vague now. I notice that when I'm taking sharp turns, that I have to turn the steering a lot more. Could something have been altered when the calipers went on, or is just the additional weight that is causing this?

3. The brakes do feel like they have more clamping force when applied for short stops, but when coming to a gradual stops, I don't feel like the braking has improved much. Not sure if the latter makes much sense. Could it be that the pads/rotors are still pretty fresh (5 days old) and need more breaking into?

I hope someone can provide some input...thanks!

Well you've added a lot of new weight to your wheels, so no doubt steering feel is influenced.

I figured I would experience some difference, but not this drastic!

Default well, they're hardly any bigger in terms of rotors and they're heavier.

big brake kits generally don't improve stopping distance, that's more of a function of pads and tires. a big brake kit's main benefit is better heat dissipation so that you can consistently stop hard (or slow down) over and over.

sure the additional pistons help a bit, but not that much.

as for the pulling to the left, perhaps one of the calipers is sticking.

good luck

Default i understand. did you do the B5 S4 caliper install also?

did you notice a difference in steering ability? i expect that it will be off due to a heavier kit up front, but i didn't expect that i have to turn the steering wheel so much to make simple turns.

what can be done about a sticking caliper if that's the case?
