Anyone ever had a problem with their combi valve (ERG valve) ?

I have what I thought was an exhaust leak and I am being told that there is a possibility that it may be the combi valve. Just wondering if the combi valve was defective or borken what symptoms I might expect ?

I did once, but...

it was the EGR valve on my 79 Volvo. Indeed, the worn out/rusted valve sounded exactly like an exhaust leak, which what I thought it was, but it turned out to be a hole in the EGR valve.

I don't think the combi valve is an EGR valve..

it's more of a secondary air valve, when the engine needs the secondary air, it turns on the pump and sends the vacuum signal to the combi valve to open it. That's why when the vacuum hose cracks on the combi valve you get the incorrect flow-secondary air code. I think you'd get secondary air codes or lean condition codes with a problem.
