Default Anyone having Transmission Problems?

I am having problems getting my 2002 1.8T QM in second and third during downshift after long highway trips, or after driving it an hour or more. After three seperate trips to the dealership, where I was able to show the tech the problem only once (of course) they disregarded the problem. The one time I had it happen with the tech in the car, they accounted it to too much speed, but I was shifting 3rd to 2nd at 40mph. To me that is an unacceptable excuse, I have owned all types of car and trucks and have never been locked out of a gear (with the exception of 1st, obviously). I have been locked out of 2nd at speeds as low as 20mph and less in my A4. I am confindent that it is not my driving ability, I have driven manuals all my life, and even have plenty of seat time in formula fords with non-synchromeshed transmissions. Any advice?

Default If you've done time in Formulas, obviously you're rev matching... my guess is a balky syncro...

I definitely have no trouble downshifting into any gears (except 1st) at any reasonable speed.
