Audi automatic displaying "Press clutch to start"
I have a 2004 Audi A4 1.8T with auto CVT transmission. It will not crank and will not jump start. Displays "press clutch to start" message but is an auto. Battery new and load tested. Terminals clean all the way to starter. Car will not start in park or neutral. Also, OBD II reader will not communicate with vehicle. Pin 16 has power. Car has not been cut, hacked or otherwise messed with.Dealer serviced entire life. I have also checked fuses and tested relays. There is no power to starter "S" terminal when ignition is turned. Any ideas? I have ordered a VAG but not sure if it will communicate with vehicle as OBD II will not.

Same problem
I've been dealing with the same issue for over 2 years intermittently. It used to start to crank again and the message would leave the dash after I pulled and put back a "diagnostic control" fuse but today it's really hot out and nothing is getting the car to crank fml

Have any critical modules such as ECU or TCU or engine / transmission been replaced?
I would start by looking at TCU module coding with Vag-com or similar vag scanner.
