Bought a 2005 A4 1.8T Quattro. What service should I do right away?
Hi Guys! Well I was going to buy an A6 but it fell through because the seller was a jacka$$.
I just bought an 05 A4 with 78K miles. Car is very clean inside and out. I do most maintenance myself on all of my cars but this is my first Audi. I want to get some opinions from fellow Audi owners on what to do right away with the car in terms of service.
To start off, I'm changing the Engine oil (5W-30 Synth?). Can I just get an oil filter from local parts store?
2nd I'm changing the rear brake pads. fronts are still great.
3rd I'm changing the air filter and cabin filter.
4th is timing belt, t-stat and waterpump (need to get a diy guide)
5th on the list is transmission filter and fluid change
Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Which engine?
1) I would start with the timing belt/wp/tensioner. Make sure it has been replaced if you have 1.8; 3.0 you can probably go a little longer. Thermostat? Only if you really want to. they are pretty reliable and can be replaced without
2) Oil is up to you. Attached is a list by brand and weight in the attached below. I use Mann oversize filters.

3)Brakes are easy; just "borrow" a brake caliper from Autozone ( http://www.amazon.com/OTC-7317A-Disc.../dp/B0002SQUJK ) . Cabin filter is also. I replaced mine and I swear it weighed 7 or 8 pounds?
4) What tranny?
That is a good list to start.
