Cam Tensioner Issue

Cam Tensioner Issue
The dealer just found an oil leak in the engine due to a "Poorly Designed" Cam Tensioner (of course they find this after my warrantee runs out). "Poorly Designed" were the exact words used by the dealer. Why would Audi design something poorly to later have it "break" and have us pay $$$ to have it fixed. That is just wrong. I baby my car and don't beat on it by any means. I will accept responsibility if it was something that I did, but I didn't do anything that would cause a leak!!!
I urge all of you that have had an oil leak to please call Audi USA (1-800-822-2834) to inform them. The more people that complain, then they will do a recall and have this problem fixed at no cost to us. They currently will not accept responsiblity for this, which is lame because it was poorly designed to begin with. Has anyone else out there had this issue?? Please speak up and voice your opinions to Audi USA!

Re: What model year and how many miles?
I have a 2001 A4 1.8T Quattro w/ ~55,000 mile. I am not a very happy man right now!! If it's a known issue, then why do I have to pay for the repairs ($800) is quite a chunk of change for me.
