Default chrome window trim

Hello,

Ive been hangin around this forum for about a year now but have never posted anything so I thought I better start.

Has anyone ever thought of trying to get some aftermarket long chrome strips and doing a custom window outlining like on the 3.0? Seems to me it could be done pretty easily, though it may not look exactly like the oem version.

Any thoughts or opinions?

Thanks
Todd

Default i hate to say it, but you should have searched

This has been discussed many times and even just 10-15 threads down. Sorry if i come off rude, its just that this gets asked everyday. However you take this, it was meant in the best way possible.

Default ive come across this stuff...

<a href="http://alsacorp.com/products/mirrachrome/mirra_show.htm">Chrome spray</a>

i think the paint might work well... was thinking about using it on my mirror housing and maybe on my wood trim...(not sure on either though)

i think it (the trim) is a really hard install, so its VERY expensive.

Default dude, I think you've misunderstood his original post

He is not asking to replace the trim as discussed in the past.

He is asking if anyone here has used the readily available chrome adhesive strips, commonly found at auto stores, and used these strips around the windows to provide the 3.0 "look".

Default I've never heard of this being tried before

it's worth a shot and would be a relatively inexpensive experiment, if you're so inclined.

However I am not certain how well those chrome strips would adhere to the rubber around the window frame.

Let us know if you decide to do it and good luck!

Oh, welcome. Don't let the other comments scare you off.

Default Personally, I've always liked the black trim on the 1.8's better...

...this isn't meant to offend anyone but I don't understand why people want to make their car look like something that it isn't...
