With the 3.0 it's most likely the cat. The 3.0 has has a higher rate of cat failure than any other engines. And it's a PITA to change the cats in the 3.0

IMO if it wAs a 02 sensor it would throw a mixed code. For example it would throw a code for the 02 sensor you clear the code next day it throws a code for the cats. This would make me think it's the 02 sensor. When the car says it's the cats a decent 90% of the time it's right.

You can cheaply get rid if the code using spacers on the 02 sensor. Search up spark plug non fouler or spacers a4 ect.
