Engine is done... I got the head of yesterday and the Pistons have a lot of play.... A few questions:

Where is a good place to shop for an engine?
What's a fair price?

Also how much would I get to sell my car as is to a salvage yard?

No idea on locating an engine.

As far as salvage value, I can tell you that the insurance salvage value on an 02 about a year ago was $2200. It was not running becuase of a smashed radiator and condensor. I suspect a salvage yard would pay less than that maybe in the 1000 range.

On that note and if you decide to go that route, what color is your car? I need a rear bumper.

Most wrecking yards will pay scrap value thats it, 200 bucks. some of the big wreckers will pay the big money for them, but with the most valuble part of the car its junk soo i doubt youll get much.

As far as finding a good used engines

www.car-part.com just be sure to pull the oil pan and check the pickup tube for debris and replace the oil line to the turbo and do timing belt and water pump before installing a used engine.
