Cooling fans running when car is off

I Have the Same Problem
I am going through this experience right now - 2007 Audi A4 (3.2). Basically, I had my ECU replaced and the tech (not a dealer tech) damaged the rear left corner of cover (probably yanked it out). Of course rain pooled up inside and I brought it back to them when I noticed the fan coming on after the car was off. They did a diagnosis and the computer came up showing a problem with the fan control module. They wanted about $1000 to order and install the part (to fix the problem they created). I currently have the car with another shop who are checking to see that the relay is in fact the problem and the fans are OK.

I have a similar issue with my 2008 A6 however the fan comes on when I open the doors ( even before putting in the key ) and then runs the entire time I drive. It will turn off about 30 seconds after I take out the key and shut the door. Would this be the same relay 219 issue?
