Cruise Control retrofit not engaging
Hello,
I have retrofitted a cruise control on my A4 B6 Avant 1.9 TDI last week but I cannot get it going.
So the car had been with an automatic transmission and reverted to a 5-manual one 15 years ago and I was missing a clutch switch which I mounted and connected to the ECU (39th pin) and then to 12v from the brake switch.
Bought a second-hand steering module (8E0-953-549-N) with all stalks (cruise, wipers and turn signal) and mounted it with no problem. Also checked if there is a cable on the 5th pin (blue-ish) to the ECU - it does.
Recoded step by step through VCDS the Engine, Steering and ABS modules - all OK.
Tried engaging the cruise control at different speed and gears - it does not work.
I noticed that in VCDS - 01 Engine - Measuring blocks - 006 group it does show information about Cruise control pedal and switch monitoring but in format X-X-X, as with pedals depressed it shows 1-0-0. From the VCDS label file I concluded that it does not recognize the clutch pedal position. When pressing/depressing the brake pedal the last two values change as it should.
The clutch switch works fine (checked it with multimeter). Also tried directly connecting the wires, bypassing the switch - the values stay the same.
The stalk works fine according to VCDS - In module 16 - Steering wheel there is info about the cruse control stalk operation (on/off/+speed/-speed/set) and all shows fine there.
Also I got an error in 01-Engine :
17977 - Cruise Control Switch (E45)
P1569 - 35-00 - Implausible Signal
18097 - Powertrain Data Bus
P1689 - 35-00 - Implausible Message from Elect. Load Controller
Should I recode or do something additional in order to get this going? Am I missing something, knowing that the car was reverted to a 5-manual gearbox?
