Does SALES TAX HOLIDAY apply to Texas???
If it does, I plan to delay the delivery of my A4 to the 23rd!! Would the dealer sell my car to someone else if i dont take the delivery 4 days late?

Still in the process of approval..check out the link for updates and details. Nov. 15 is the
deadline for states to join in this Bill. Massachussetts is in the process of deciding whether to join or not...not sure about other states though.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c107:H.R.3172:</a

The Bill has been sent to the "Ways and Means" committee. This group analyzes the possiblity
of the bill and if it will fit under the current federal budgets. if it was approved by the fed, i don't see why the states would not join in and implement it. It would drive sales up and the fed will reimburse the state the lost tax rev.

Thx for the link -- applies only to states, NOT counties or municipalities.
We've had sales tax holidays in NY, but places like the City of White Plains (which has its OWN sales tax) have opted out, saying they can't afford to lose the revenue. So while it'll be nice to get a holiday from state sales tax (if it happens), it'd be nicer to get a holiday from ALL sales tax! Oh well, most people probably live where there is no county/city sales tax anyway.
