Engine Problem
I have a B6 A4 2.0L - only today i have incurred some engine problems "i think" ?? I was driving the car home from work and noticed that the engine was really rough in low revs - it had rained quite heavily the night before and the car was in the weather although i do not beleive that the electrics are wet (at least i dont think so.)
When i got home i had a look under the hood and noticed the exhaust manifold glowing red - this is obviously a sign that something is not qutie right. Can anyone shed some light on this ? Also I noticed that once the engine cooled down then i tried to re-start as i turned the key a weird clicking noise came from the engine - sounds like battery but cant tell.
I hope that someone can shed some light on this for me.
Kind Regards
James
thanks for your reply and concerns !!
When i took it to the dealer in Melbourne - Audi Centre. They advised me that it was a "broken" coil pack which provides spark to the plugs.
Now here is the interesting part.
My vehicle has just come off warranty and they said that they will fix it as part of a warranty claim as part of "GOODWILL" - which i am and was more that appreciative of especially when they told me that to replace the parts it was A$183.00 plus labour.
Now to my surprise a colleague at work did some research and found out that in europe and across america this "defective coil pack" was being replaced as part of Audi's customer care program because it was a known defective part for the vehicle -- so goodwill on the part of the audi service centre in melbourne ... hmmmm interesting.
all in all I am one happy and satisfied customer.
Does anyone have a list of known audi defects ?
