Default FREE stock shocks/springs (non-sport) from a 2002 3.0 - local pick up in Boston, MA area only

Hey guys,

Now that I've finally upgraded to sport suspension I have the following in a big ol' box that I don't need anymore:

- 4 springs
- 4 shocks (w/ bump stops)
- rear 16mm anti-sway bar (w/ brackets/bushings)
- front anti-sway bar (w/ brackets/bushings)

All parts were original equipment on my 2002 A4 3.0 Avant (NOT sport package). 30k miles on 'em. Local pickup only. Drop me line if you want anything... After a week or so I'm tossing them.

Thanks,

Brian

Default Where did you have the upgrade done? (m)

Also, if you don't mind me asking how much for Sports Suspension parts and labor (or did you DIY)?

I am planning an upgrade for my '02 3.0 and have been debating for a while whether to go Stock Sports Suspension or aftermarket such as Bilstein Shocks and Eibach or H&R Springs.

Default I did it myself. (m)

I went with factory sport to keep everything factory parts. I'm quite pleased with the results. The car only got lowered about an inch, but the handling is much improved (body roll reduced considerably). I found the parts used (barely used -- California cars, too) for around $250. If you decide to go factory sport, keep in mind that you only need the rear swaybar -- the front is the same on sport and non-sport. Drop me a line if you want a complete list of part numbers (for the sport bump stops, etc.)...

If I were to have gotten the suspension install done at a shop, Brian's Garage would be it (in Needham). I imagine it would be about 4-6 hours of labor at ~ $70/hour. And he knows his stuff.

HTH,

Brian

ps- Where in MA are you?

Default Thanks for the note. I'll give it some more thought now on the stock sports vs Aftermarket.

Did you want to stay with factory parts because of warranty concerns?

I live in Mansfield, MA so not far from Needham at all.

Default Yeah, I wanted to stick with factory parts...

partially for possible warranty issues, and partially because due to snow in the winter, etc. I didn't want to go with very much lowering... Factory sport was definitely the way to go for me.

*Maybe* when I'm past 50k miles I'll try something with some height adjustability...
