Default Going in to stealership tomorrow to hopefully fix the car-final thoughts or ideas?

I posted a little while back about my temp guage fluxuating. This led to CEL, as well as the secondary (a/c fan) cooling fan to kick in at cold start. Indy shop replaced coolant temp sensor, cleared codes, and CEL came back on, but only threw a general P1296 "coolant system malfunction". They couldn't seem to diagnose beyond that.

I'm thinking not t-stat because I have good heat. Temp guage still fluxuates, fan still kicks in, and CEL still on.

Is it possible that the temp sensor is faulty, but not totally shot therefore not throwing a specific code to replace?

I cringe to think what the dealer will say...

TIA

Default did they replace the green cts yoke neck that tends to leak fluid?

mine had a hairline crack, pink crust on the bellhousing. This caused air to enter the cooling system and act all wonky.

suggest you look for the pink crust signs of G12 leaks.

Can't see any leaks, but I'll see if they suggest air in the system. Simple coolant flush to fix??

Have you checked for water inside the ECU compartment?

Did you get to the bottom of this issue?

I've got the exact same thing happening a CEL followed by the secondary fan kick on upon startup.

Thanks
