Has this happened to your radio....
My 2002 1.8T Avant did this yesterday morning to me.
Short drive to work, listening to a CD. When I get to the parking lot, I notice that the sound of the CD I was listening to was changing. Sound level went down. I thought, maybe the CD was skipping or had a scratch or something. As I drive through the parking lot, I realize that the CD is fine, but the sound level/volume was moving up and down!
I park the car and watch the radio. Sure enough, I see the volume going from 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, then back down, and up. I turn off the radio, turn off the car. Turn on the car and radio and it's better.
I'm attributing that one to cosmic rays or something, but it sure was freaky.

Interesting. I rarely change volume levels, but I'll check it out.
My drive is only 10 minutes, so if I get to listen to three songs, I'm lucky. I don't really have to change volume levels.
