Heating unit problem
The heater core was replaced due to a very strong smell of anti-freeze, fogging up the windscreen, and lastly - some smoke coming out of the center vents.
Dropped of the car on a Friday picked up the vehicle on Tuesday. The dealer told me that they never had this problem before. Had to order the heater core. I should have figured that if they never had this problem before that they might not be able to fix it right....
After driving the "fixed" car, noticed a faint smell of anti-freeze but better than before. I figured I had to run the heater etc for a while to get rid of the smell. Almost a week past and I think the smell is getting worse. Plus I also noticed that when I look at the heater core from the driver side there is some moisture between the plastic and the core...the passenger side carpet has some stains - from anti-freeze on it and... the heating unit does not work properly. When I select 76 degrees I get like cool to warm air out of the side vents, almost nothing on the center front vents. I have to crank up the heater to + 80 F to get some warm to hot air out.
Any suggestions recommendations of how to handle this situation would be welcome...
