How to remove the factory side skirts?

How to remove the factory side skirts?
I am going to paint the lower panel so I want to remove the fatory side skirt?
I heard that, just take the black strip off and then take off the screws on the top and on the bottom.
Do i need to remove the wheel in order to do it?

Different part numbers for "S-line"...Unpainted has "01C" added onto part numbers...
I have not R&R'd my own B6 USP side-sills, and or Avant or non S-Line sills, so I cannot say for certain if they all attach the same. Only that there are differences listed in the parts source I have.
Which I went to, first, thinking the USP side sills maybe different.
The Bentley manual does not specify differences between the sills, so they may all attach the same. ;o)

Here is the little writeup
thanks for everyone, I just removed the side skirts last nite, it was not hard but take a little bit of time
Here is the little writeup for the side skirt removal
1)take off the black plastic trim which cover the side skirt on the top.
Use little pressure by your finger or screw drive to move the black trim to the left and right until it can come off.
If u live in cold weather, please use heat gun to warm them a bit.
2)Use torx 20 to unscrew screw (it has 29 screw on each side, please have a small tool ready
3)the side skirt is two piece so you can take off the long peice out but not complete out.
4) then use little pressure to take the small piece out as well (audi just use the double side tape the on the small piece)
5) then u can remove the side skirt completely
6) repeat the same procedure on the other side skirt
