Default I was at a stop sign yesterday my car suddenly was making a much deeper exhaust note...

I get home and find that the sound is coming towards the rear drivers' side of the car. I look underneath and I find what is pictured here. The exhaust brace broke the pipe! This is the second time the exhaust has failed in this area. The first time the brace itself broke. The car was still under warranty then, so the dealer replaced the left side of the exhaust from just after the resonator. I called the dealer again this morning because I had the part changed in August of last year. I wanted to find out if their parts warranty would cover this. If not then I'm looking at one of 3 options. I can weld the brace back and patch the hole up with a big honking weld. I can buy a replacement section from Audi and change it out again. or I can stop considering the Thermal exhaust and just get it and put all this crap behind me. Has anyone else had this kind of failure?

If you are going to have to pay for the replacement put that $ towards thermal

Default same thing happened my Neuspeed exhaust.... If you got the $ just get a new exhaust

if you don't have the funds for it... then push for the warranty since they worked on it last time.

Default common the B5 in a similar spot

I had mine welded back b/c I am out of warranty. I would continue to push for warranty replacement, that way you can possibly sell a good condition (non rusted) stock take off exhaust if you decide to upgrade to thermal.

I would take it to the dealer and get installed new one (warranty), and then go with Thermal

Default what part is it? drop me an email.

I got rear ended and I'm getting a new exhaust, the only damage to my exhaust was the mufflers and a seal. If this break is in the mid muffler, I'll sell you mine at the end of next week when my thermal goes on.

let me know
